I made this cowdung wall a reference point as I started posting photos reflecting everyday life in Mysore. I had then expected that the wall would be gone before long, giving way to real estate development.
Re-visiting the place on D Subbaiah Rd. this morning I found the wall was gone, though not much else has happened by way of development. The place is still plastered with cowdung cake.

And this is where my Mysore photo blog comes to end. For I am planning a move from Mysore, to another city.

A different ballgame

It is evident from the photo that this patch on the campus of Baden Powell School in Mysore isn’t used for playing basketball. In fact, the space is often rented out to event managers for exhibitions – handicraft, home appliances, building materials, furniture, and a host of other consumer items.

Flowers and cane sellers took over the pavement at Dhanawantri Rd. on the eve of Sankranthi festival.

Tiger’s mosque

I am not sure if prayers are offered at this mosque at Srirangapatna, which has historical significance. Tipu Sultan, hailed as the Tiger of Mysore, prayed here. He is buried not far from this mosque.

Spotted this signpost smack in front of the Mysore Lokauykt office and Nyaya Niwas‘, guest house for high court judges, at a Dewan’s Rd. traffic crossing. Corruption is an issue that wouldn’t go away. As blogger Bijoy writes, ‘What would we do without it ?
